Where projects come alive through strategic Planning
In one of our most logistically challenging rural deployments to date, WestNetworks Holdings Ltd was contracted by a third-party network provider to deliver high-capacity Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) connectivity to a remote Amazon distribution centre. The location, with limited existing infrastructure and no direct resilient fibre access, required a creative, agile solution.
End to End Solution
Our remit was comprehensive: identify a viable installation site, secure planning permission using Ofcom-granted Code Powers, and manage the end-to-end build process. After extensive surveying, we selected a location offering optimal line-of-sight to the fibre backhaul point.
We coordinated with (PPL) Power Poles Limited to deliver a 10m stout wooden pole and arranged for a dedicated electrical supply. This involved liaising with the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to facilitate the road crossing, verge works, and installation of a smart meter for reliable power delivery. We erected the pole, re-seeded and destoned the verges and re-visit annually.

We worked with multiple contractors, delivered within-budget a pre-packaged solution that we designed, planned and built. We delivered what we promised and continue to operate the site with audits, utilities and maintenance on behalf of our valued client.

To house the supporting equipment, we installed a street-side cabinet, and our engineers rigged the pole with precision-grade wireless hardware to ensure stability, weather resistance, and high throughput. Continuous signal testing, quality assurance, and post-deployment audits were integrated throughout the process to guarantee uptime and long-term reliability.
Despite the rural environment and third-party coordination challenges, WestNetworks delivered the project on time and within budget, demonstrating our capability to deploy enterprise-grade infrastructure quickly and efficiently, even in the most demanding locations.
