Full Compliance
The project involved the delivery of a new full-fibre network across mixed terrain, including public highways, private land, and rural pathways. Our in-house teams—accredited under SA001 (Overhead Safety), SA002 (Underground Safety), S007 (Sub-Duct and Cable Installation), and S008 (Blown Fibre Installation)—carried out all physical works, ensuring every aspect of the build met national best practices and Openreach PIA requirements.
Civil works were executed under NRSWA compliance, with full street works permissions in place and strict traffic management protocols observed. Using a combination of mole-ploughing, directional drilling, and trench excavation for UG routes, and 10m poles for OH spans, we optimised the build path for both speed and cost-efficiency, while maintaining minimal disruption to local communities.
Integrity Testing
Sub-ducts were installed and tested ahead of fibre blowing, with cables laid in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and network specifications. OH installations were carefully rigged with the correct mid-span clearances and pole loading calculations, ensuring long-term resilience in varied weather conditions.
Every stage of the deployment, from poling and ducting to fibre splicing and testing, was audited internally and externally to verify performance, compliance, and workmanship. Final OTDR and light level tests confirmed service readiness and performance above required thresholds.
By maintaining full control over both civil and cabling operations with accredited internal teams, WestNetworks ensures reliable delivery, reduced costs, and full accountability.
